My sweet Ethan has been asking to visit the Payson Temple Open House. An earlier weekend was planned but it didn't work out. I was nervous that 1) since all of the tickets were sold out we'd have no chance, and 2) it was the last weekend. So even with a "Waiting Line" chance, we'd either be in line forever or wait and not get to enter.
But our church isn't like that. They are seriously the best organizers in the history of ever.
So, on the very last day of the Open House, Ethan was up bright and early, on his own - on a Saturday - to print out report cards. We were passing Krispy Kremes in Orem en route to Payson and he is never one to miss out on an opportunity for free donuts for his A's! Donuts, a sweet drive with my kids, and a walk through an amazingly beautiful temple...what else could be better?
LDS Payson Temple - Payson, Utah
Nothing. Nothing could be better. The wait wasn't long and it was so worth it!
Maiya was amazed at all of the stained glass. Ethan takes things in quietly - and did. The artwork was incredible. The design and decor of temples is unmatched, as is the quiet, reverent feeling that is completely indescribable. Whether someone is religious or not, it's simply an amazing feeling to just have a few moments of quiet reflection and block out the world to focus on what really matters most.
The list is short.
While leaving, I got a,"Thanks mom for taking us. Thanks dad for driving." Melt my heart! Sure love Ethan's example in wanting to see the temple so badly. It's true...those little things really are the big things.
