Boy, oh, boy! Did Maiya have a great week or what?!
Monday she won $10 for a story she wrote, and today we attended a Chik-Fil-A Breakfast Reception for finalists in their storywriting contest The Day I Took the Chik-Fil-A Cow to School. The 3 finalists for each age group got to read their cute stories - wow! There's so much creativity out there and I'm so happy for kids who will opt for writing, imagining and having fun instead of merely sitting in front of a screen all day. Blah.
These kids were so cute and all of the stories were unique. One girl took her cow to ballet class, another had him giving karate punches. Too cute! Chik-Fil-A does an amazing job in giving back to their community in addition to delicious food, and it's always, "My pleasure."
Maiya won! She brought home the big red gift bag with a big plush cow she named Margo - that she slept with - and a bunch of other fun prizes. Way to go Maiya!
