Playing any team 2 divisions up can be scary. Playing the #1 team in the state - that's 2 divisions up - can be intimidating. But the girls had been making a buzz this week and they played hard. They played through 2 bad handballs called in the box, which scored, and 2 legit goals. For a team that's only played together for 2 years, I'd call that amazing. To think the score could have been 2-0...well, it doesn't matter the score because in my book they proven that they could play at this level.
But the persons that matter most in proving themselves worthy of playing at this high level of soccer is themselves. The girls put in the hours, effort and heart...a determination to excel has to come from within. If they don't believe in their potential and rise to what others see in them,
I hope Kiana takes a few things away from the journey to State Cup this week: surround yourself with greatness.
